Sometime between 1999 and 2002, a live music collective revolving around hip hop in the city of Chicago started to record music on a digital four-track recorder. I, (Armando) had just returned from a move to San Francisco. I had just met and worked with golden era hip hop producer Sal Catanzaro for the first time. I had already had demos with Orel at the time on cassette tapes from a four track I borrowed from Halo singer, Bria.

As soon as I returned to Chi, I bought a BOSS Dr. Beat 202 and a Red Rouge bass from Alex Mamic. I made beats and recorded rhymes with Orel, Army of Juan, V8, and spoken word with Phos and Tony. I was also writing songs and starting to record instrumental compositions. While playing shows and jamming all this time, we collaborated with a production Wunderkind named, Full Exposure, whom produced three beats on this record.

This is the "Blue Album," the first record from the independent FREEFORM SESSIONS crew. We started the hip hop nights at the Abbey Pub and held it down for a good year. We opened for Erykah Badu, Primeridian, Galapagos4, Molemen, Robust, Quel, Star PeopleIt was great times, and we have this to listen to as the first record of two. The long lost, unreleased "Red Album" was recorded.
